I was born in China. I trained at some of the most prestigious art schools in China and then I relocated to Japan in 1992.
I have painted under the names Jiang Lie Qin (signed as JLQ) and Yurika Nakae. I hailed in Japan as a rising star in the art world.
In 2002, I relocated to Los Angeles, California. My work has been featured in a lot of exhibitions in North America, Europe, and Asia, including seven major individual exhibitions, and has received attention in both print and broadcast media in America and Asia.
I am a member of several exclusive artist groups in Asia, and my work has received awards, including most recently a prize from the Renten Exhibition in February of 2002.
My painting “Venice Gondolas No. 3 was included in the Japan Art Annual 2003, published by Bijutsu Nenkansha.
I also worked extensively in the fashion industry several years ago.
